As we can tell from the chart above, the 2017 VW Touareg and the 2017 BMW X5 have quite a bit in common. When it comes down to sizing, these two are pretty similar. There is seating for up to seven in the X5, but there is only seating for five in this year’s Touareg. The Touareg does offer slightly more legroom for both front and rear seat passengers, which is sure to increase overall comfort. With the seats up, the Touareg has 32.1 cubic feet of cargo space, and the X5 has 22.9 cubic feet. However, when the seats are folded down, the X5 has slightly more space than the Touareg.
Both vehicles are set with leatherette seating and a 40-20-40 split-bench seat to maximize convenience. They’re both set with cruise control, illuminated vanity mirrors, daytime running lights, parking assist and low tire pressure indicators. The Touareg comes out on top with standard features that are only option on the X5 including a Blind-Spot Monitoring system, a Lane-Departure Warning system and adaptive cruise control.
