What’s New On the 2017 Volkswagen Jetta?
The Jetta compact sedan is one of the most popular models offered by Volkswagen thanks to its sporty and efficient driving experience and superb value. With the new model year approaching, however, many drivers will wonder what’s new on the 2017 Volkswagen Jetta so that they can decide between a 2016 or 2017 model.
The Jetta doesn’t receive any major redesign or changes for the 2017 model year, and frankly, it doesn’t need them. But since Volkswagen always does a great job of finding ways to better please its customers, there are some noteworthy changes we definitely want you to be aware of.
2017 VW Jetta Trim Level Options
Volkswagen is known for offering numerous trim levels on its models, helping drivers get exactly the vehicle they want. It is possible to have too many trims, though, and it appears VW is making the shopping experience a little easier by cutting down the trim lineup to just four trims: S, SE, SEL and SEL Premium.
Of course, in addition, the thrilling GLI is also offered in the SE trim. Sadly, however, we will be saying goodbye to the Jetta Hybrid which has delivered many drivers across the country on numerous road trips at low fuel costs. That means if you had your eye on the hybrid model, now is that time to try to get one.
Standard Features on the 2017 VW Jetta
Drivers will be delighted to find that a rearview camera now comes standard on the entry level S trim level. This means the Jetta offers even more value, as well as a nice feature that makes backing up safer and easier.
Popular driver assistance features from the previous model year are now made more accessible. Though they don’t come standard, the Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert now comes on the SE model, while the SEL trim includes Forward Collision Warning/Autonomous Emergency Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control.
