Over the past couple of years, Volkswagen has rolled out several I.D. concept vehicles, with their electric powertrain and innovative technologies. Volkswagen recently unveiled another I.D. model: the I.D. BUZZ CARGO, which is an electric cargo van that has the potential to dramatically change the world of light commercial vehicles.
Modular Electric Drive Kit in Volkswagen I.D. BUZZ CARGO
Like the rest of the models in the I.D. lineup, the I.D. BUZZ CARGO is based on the Modular Electric Drive Kit (MEB). The electric motor delivers 201 horsepower (150 kW) — and with the biggest available lithium-ion battery, the I.D. BUZZ CARGO is projected to achieve a range of up to 340 miles. In “I.D. Pilot” mode, the I.D. BUZZ CARGO provides autonomous driving capabilities.

Notable exterior design features include the wide-opening rear wing doors, 20-inch wheels, and front doors and a sliding door that open electrically. The I.D. BUZZ CARGO also features a solar roof, which extends the daily range of the van by up to 9.3 miles. With an overall length of 235.7 inches and a maximum payload of 1.75 tons, the I.D.
