The all-new 2018 Volkswagen Atlas has been a resounding success, as American consumers have enjoyed its spacious and comfortable interior, smooth ride, impressive driving dynamics, and advanced multimedia features. Building off of the success of the Atlas, Volkswagen is planning on releasing a 5-passenger version: the VW Atlas Cross Sport.
The VW Atlas Cross Sport — which made its global debut at the 2018 New York International Auto Show — will be released in 2019.
What does the VW Atlas Cross Sport have to offer?
Under the hood of the VW Atlas Cross Sport is a sophisticated hybrid powertrain, which combines two electric motors with the 3.6-liter V6 FSI engine, delivering a total system output of 355 horsepower. You’ll have confident traction over challenging terrains with the 4MOTION Active Control system. It offers five modes that you can set according to the driving situation and your preferred driving style.

While the VW Atlas Cross Sport has many of the same design elements as its 7-passenger sibling, it differs in a number of ways. It is 7.5-inches shorter, resulting in greater maneuverability and nimbleness. The exterior of the Atlas Cross Sport really grabs your attention with its horizontal design theme, sleek character lines, roof spoiler, flared wheel arches, aluminum accents, and aluminum-alloy wheels. The Atlas Cross Sport also comes equipped with LED headlights, daytime running lights, and taillights.
The stylish look continues to the interior, with a modernistic design and high-quality materials throughout the cabin. Technology features include the 12.3-inch Volkswagen Digital Cockpit, the 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and gesture control.
