Volkswagen is unveiling five concept vehicles starting today at SOWO: The European Experience on Hutchinson Island in Savannah, Georgia. The vehicles are prepared specifically for this show, and they’re created from the interests of various Volkswagen enthusiasts. The VW Golf Alltrack Country Concept is a spin-off of the third-generation Golf Country Special Edition, which was only sold in Europe.
What is the VW Golf Country Special Edition?
This Golf Country Special Edition sports more suspension than a traditional Golf model giving drivers more off-road driving capabilities. It’s equipped with Syncro four-wheel drive, higher ground clearance and brush guards. That’s exactly why the VW Golf Alltrack was the perfect model to take this idea to the next level. Since the regular Alltrack already comes set with 4Motion all-wheel drive and more ground clearance than the Golf SportWagen, it was a no-brainer.
What’s included in the VW Golf Alltrack Country Concept?
The VW Golf Alltrack Country Concept on display at The European Experience has an additional 2-inch suspension lift, and it sits on 15-inch wheels with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. We’re going to highlight more of the key features that make this concept unique:
- Additional fog lights integrated into lower bumper
- Hitch-mounted Thule T2 Pro XT bike rack
- Entertainment system with media computer in trunk
- Custom LED light bar in liftgate
There is also a roof-mounted tent system that includes flexible solar panel, a curved LED light bar and a solar-heated shower. There are three batteries strategically placed under the trunk floor that are charged by the solar power system to keep the media center and USB power ports fully charged. The exterior is covered in a custom topography graphic wrap for added detail.
