You know how the story goes: You’ll be driving along and your phone is absolutely getting lit up by incoming text messages from friends, family members, and coworkers. Given how dangerous it is to interact with your phone while driving, you’ll need an alternative solution to read messages.
The good news is that App-Connect system on your Volkswagen uses Apple CarPlay to give you the power of natural language commands and the help of Apple’s digital assistant, Siri, to give you the ability to listen to text messages and reply while on the go. Read on to learn how the system works and how easy it is to stay focused on the road while staying in touch.
How Apple CarPlay Gives You Hands-Free Interaction
Volkswagen App-Connect and Apple CarPlay works with your iPhone to send and receive text messages without risking the safety of you and your passengers:
Siri reads your incoming text messages to you so you don’t feel compelled to take your eyes off the road and read them.
If you wish to send a text message, all you have to do is let Siri know. Siri will ask who you wish to send your message to and what the content of that message should be. Then, all you have to do is speak your message and hit the send button on the wheel.

Families and those enjoying the sights solo will find a variety of great things to do here, including riding the ferris wheel and roller coaster, visiting the aquarium, enjoying the fairground, and experiencing the historic architecture of the Looff Hippodrome. Some of the most incredible experiences to be had in downtown Santa Monica include shopping at the Third Street Promenade pedestrian shopping zone, visiting the Santa Monica Place shopping center, discovering the wonders at the Museum of Flying, and more.
The new 2018 Volkswagen Atlas can comfortably seat 7 passengers , but where’s the fun in that? What about fidget spinners? I don’t know about you, but it seems a lot more informative to know the answers to these questions:
How many fidget spinners can comfortably fit in an Atlas?
How many VR headsets would fit in an Atlas?
How many smartphones would fit in an Atlas?
How many Bluetooth speakers would fit in an Atlas?
How many dad hats would fit in an Atlas?
How Many Fidget Spinners Can Comfortably Fit in an Atlas?
Fidget spinners were all the rage not long ago, and you may have built up an excess of them. If you need to dump your fidget spinners in the landfill (bury them deep so they don’t come back), then you’re probably wondering how many can fit in the Atlas. To answer this question, we need to first figure out the interior volume of the 2018 Atlas . The Atlas features an interior cargo volume of 96.8 ft 3 to seat 1. A standard-issue fidget spinner measures in at 0.0023 ft 3 , meaning the Atlas can carry around 42,000 of them. Why you would want to in the first place is – well – that’s your business.
How Many VR Headsets Would Fit in an Atlas?
The average VR headset is 0.076 cubic feet, meaning that you could fit around 1,000 of them in your Atlas. Enjoy!
How Many Smartphones Would Fit in an Atlas?
The average smartphone (we won’t judge if you go with the non-fruit variety) is 0.0023 cubic feet, which means you could comfortably fit 42,000 or so in your Atlas.
How Many Bluetooth Speakers Would Fit in an Atlas?
You should be able to fit around 20,000 speakers in your Atlas. You might want to wear some ear plugs, though!
How Many Dad Hats Would Fit in an Atlas?
Ok, dad hats don’t have the same restrictions since you can fold them and layer them far more effectively than sturdier objects. You could probably fit tens of thousands of dad hats in the Atlas. The limit is your ingenuity for packing dad hats before you head off to the dad convention!

It’s an unfortunate situation, but it happens to almost everyone: You’re stranded with a car that won’t turn on because the battery is dead. Use this guide to figure out how to jump start your car, which will require:
A little know-how
Figure out how to jump start your car battery, and count on the team at Volkswagen Santa Monica for a range of automotive tricks and tips .
A Step-by-Step Guide
Follow these steps to get your car running and back on the road:
First, make sure the problem is with your car battery. If you turn the key and the engine fails to turn over at all, chances are the issue is a dead battery.
Track down a second vehicle or a portable generator. If you have a portable generator with jumper cables, then you’re all set. If not, you’ll need to find a working vehicle and take out a set of jumper cables.
Put the two cars nose to nose, then make sure both vehicles are in park. This positioning allows the jumper cables to reach both batteries. If that’s not possible, having them side-by-side should be fine as well.
Attach the red clip to your vehicle’s positive terminal. The positive terminal is larger and likely has “POS” or “+” on it.
Attach the red clip to other vehicle’s positive terminal.
Attach the black clip to other vehicle’s negative terminal.
Attach the black clip to an unpainted metal surface on your car that isn’t located near the battery.
Turn on the working vehicle and wait a few minutes.
Turn on your vehicle, and try again in a few minutes if it doesn’t work right away.
