Firework Show

The 4th of July is a special time of year in all fifty states, and for many, it’s the holiday that best symbolizes the height of summer. Find out how to make the most of this special occasion with our guide to the 2019 4th of July Events and fireworks shows in Santa Monica.

Independence Day Celebration – June 29th

This year, the biggest fireworks in Santa Monica will be seen at the Independence Day Celebration on June 29th. Folks will gather from 5:00 to 10:00 P.M. at Corsair Field, on the campus of Santa Monica College, but you can start tailgating in the parking lot as early as 4:00. The live music and entertainment will go on at 6:00, and the 4th of July fireworks will start flying over Santa Monica at 9:00.

Parking is $5, but the event is otherwise completely free! Animals, alcohol, and chairs with pointed legs are all prohibited.

Looking for a place to grab a drink or a meal after the show? Check out our guides to the best restaurants in Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, or West Hollywood.

4th of July Parade in Santa Monica

On Independence Day itself, the city of Santa Monica will collaborate with the Ocean Park Association to put on the 13th annual 4th of July Parade. This family-friendly holiday event will start at 9:30 A.M, at the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Main Street. From there, the red, white, and blue participants will travel down Main, to the point where Marine meets Barnard Way. The parade will end near Ocean View Park.

After the morning parade, we wouldn’t be surprised if you were looking for more fun things to do on the 4th of July in Santa Monica! Although the city won’t be putting on its own fireworks show that day, you may still want to head down to Santa Monica Beach or Ocean Avenue. Both are great places to watch any displays that happen to light up the sky.

Volkswagen makes it easy to ensure that your tires are adequately inflated with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. There are multiple reasons why the tires on your car should have the recommended tire pressure. Underinflated tires decrease vehicle control, along with reducing the life of the tire and fuel economy, while overinflated tires also decrease vehicle control and can cause an explosive flat.
