The automotive experts at Cars.com agree, for the site gave the “Best Compact SUV of 2019” award to the 2019 Tiguan.

2019 VW Tiguan and the Cars.com Compact SUV Challenge

For the Compact SUV Challenge, Cars.com focused on SUVs updated or redesigned since the site’s last compact SUV test in 2017 and invited back podium finishers. Scoring categories included front and backseat comfort and amenities, interior quality, cargo provisions, fuel economy, child-safety seat fitment, safety and driver-assistance features, handling, braking, ride quality, and value. The 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan took the top spot, followed by the 2019 Subaru Forester, 2019 Hyundai Tucson, 2019 Honda CR-V, 2019 Toyota RAV4, 2019 Jeep Cherokee, and 2019 Nissan Rogue. This is the second time in a row that the Tiguan won the “Best Compact SUV” award.

“We redesigned the Tiguan from the ground up last year to meet the needs of American drivers and their families. Being named ‘Best Compact SUV’ two times in a row is validation that Tiguan is a serious competitor in the segment.” – Scott Keogh, CEO, Volkswagen Group of America
