Help remove trash from Santa Monica Beach at the Earth Month Nothin’ But Sand Beach Cleanup event. The top trash items collected are plastics, cigarettes, and Styrofoam. Zero Waste Earth Day • Santa Monica Farmers Market
April 22 • 8:30 am – 1:30 pm
At the Zero Waste Earth Day at the Santa Monica Farmers Market, volunteers from Sustainable Works will help customers sort their waste items at 11 different waste receptacles and answer questions about composting and recycling. (2640 Main Street Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90405)
Earth Focus Environmental Film Festival • Laemmle Monica Film Center
April 21 • 9:30 am – 6:30 pm
The Earth Focus Environmental Film Festival will have screenings of environmental shorts and films, as well as two new episodes of Link TV’s Earth Focus, titled “Earth Focus: Sea Level Rising-Living with Water” and “Earth Focus: Climate Migration.” The festival will also have educational booths with many environmental organizations from the Los Angeles-area.
