Santa Monica beach has it all — some of the country’s most beautiful views and delectable eats to enjoy while you’re there. The best Santa Monica Beach restaurants range from a five-star dining experience or a light lunch while you’re enjoying the Santa Monica pier.

Water Grill: A wide array of seafood options includes a raw bar with oysters from both coasts as well as fish from all over the world, such as European sea bass.
Cha Cha Chicken: Looking for island fun? This Caribbean restaurant has an eclectic atmosphere with fun music and spicy favorites like jerk chicken. Plus, you’re welcome to bring your favorite beer!

1 Pico: Coast’s upscale sibling has waterfront tables for sunset meals that offer options for everyone. From Italian-inspired dishes to seafood adventures, every date is sure to find something that piques their interest.
BOA Steakhouse: Loved by locals and celebrities equally, this hotspot usually requires a reservation. Craft cocktails and legendary steaks and oysters make for an incredible night.
The Lobster: It’s no question that this Santa Monica Pier restaurant features some of the best tail in the area, and there’s no contest with the waterfront view right on the pier.
Blue Plate Taco: Housemade chips and fresh guac are a great way to end a day of shopping in Santa Monica, and churros are a favorite, too. This casual spot is the best combination for a look at the beach and incredible tacos.

Depending on your daily commutes, you can wait between 5,000 miles up to 10,000 miles to have your oil changed.
Automotive technology is moving forward, and the advancements in engineering have made changes to the timeline of needing your oil changed. Rather than sticking to the hard rule of getting your oil changed every 3,000 miles, you can now go longer as engines work more efficiently.
Sometimes, Oil Changes Can Wait
Like many people, you may have been taught that a vehicle’s oil needs to be changed every 3,000 miles. However, as engines are built to last longer and with better quality materials, it takes longer for oil to get dirty enough to need to be drained and swapped out. With better engine filtering and less chances of materials like lead sullying up your oil, the engine’s oil doesn’t get dirty enough to need to be changed.
If your daily commutes are longer and mostly spent on the highway, you can even lean toward the longer end of the spectrum, waiting to hit the 10,000 mile marker before having your oil changed. This is because long-distance, normal driving conditions warm the engine oil up to its optimum temperature and allow it to lubricate the engine efficiently. However, if most of your commutes are short, your engine isn’t necessarily heating up to the target temperature, and you may need to have your oil changed every 5,000 miles.
Car Knowledge that Helps You Save on Oil Change
It’s important to check your vehicle’s owner manual, as automakers have updated guides to reflect the longevity of oil expectancy with their own innovations in vehicle design. This information is much more accurate than the advertising of chain mechanics that encourage you to come in every 3 months or 3,000 miles — as they hope to see you more often to cash in on your frequent maintenance.
