2017 Volkswagen e-Golf vs 2016 Volkswagen e-Golf
The 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf debuted at Automobility LA and for the new model year, the e-Golf features an improved driving range, more power and new features. The Volkswagen e-Golf is a pure electric vehicle that requires no fuel. With the impressive boost in driving range, customers can now go further than ever in the 2017 VW e-Golf. No only did Volkswagen increase the value by increasing driving range but the 2017 e-Golf also features more power, new infotainment options, an updated Driver Assistance package and a redesigned front and rear end.
2017 VW e-Golf Driving Range
For the 2017 model year, Volkswagen is using a new lithium-ion battery whose energy capacity has been increased from 24.2 kWh to 35.8 kWh. The new battery increases the range by about 50 percent, boosting the driving range to up to 124 miles on a single charge. The electric motor has been upgraded as well and it now produces 134 horsepower which is about 20 more horsepower than the first version of the e-Golf.
2017 VW e-Golf Driver Assistance Features
Volkswagen has extended the range of driver assistance features for the 2017 VW e-Golf. Forward Collision Warning with Autonomous Emergency Braking adds pedestrian monitoring, which will warn the driver acoustically and visually, supply increased braking pressure and apply the brakes if the driver does not react. An optional Driver Assistance package for the SEL Premium trim will include Volkswagen Digital Cockpit, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring, Blind Spot Monitor Plus, Lane Assist, Park Assist and Light Assist.
There is no official word on when the 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf will begin rolling out to dealerships but we will keep you all posted on when the 2017 e-Golf arrives at Volkswagen Santa Monica.
