2017 Volkswagen e-Golf Electric Mileage Range
The future of electric driving is here, and it appears Volkswagen is making huge shifts to make electric driving a better experience for drivers. The all-electric e-Golf has been around for a little while, and it already offers impressive range. That said, reports online suggest the 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf electric mileage range could receive a significant boost.
According to a report on Autocar, the 2017 model will be receiving increased battery capacity. As the report states, the battery will have a capacity of 35.8 kWh, which is an improvement over the existing 24.2 kWh.
This means that the 2017 VW e-Golf could have an electric mileage range of as much as 186 miles. Though this estimated range should likely be based on the NEDC rather than EPA estimates, it’s still a significant improvement over the already impressive 83 miles the current 2016 e-Golf is capable of. That said, these estimates are not official, but we’ll be able to update you with the official range estimate once it’s made available.
What’s New for the 2017 VW e-Golf?
So, what else could be new for the e-Golf in the 2017 model year? So far, details are slim and are limited to online reports and rumors. Volkswagen has yet to unveil anymore official information on the matter in any press release.
That said, the report from Autocar and other outlets suggests a power boost for the 2017 model. It appears the amount of horsepower in the new model varies based on who you ask, but according to Carscoops, it should be 161 horsepower. It’s unclear yet, however, if this will be the same for the model we’ll see in the U.S.
