But as updates and upgrades are made to Volkswagen drivers’ favorite models, excitement turns to worry as some wonder if the 2016 VW Passat U.S. price will be set outside their budget. Fortunately, Volkswagen has finally revealed details on the 2016 Volkswagen Passat USA pricing and features, so let’s take a look.

2016 VW Passat Starting MSRP

VW Passat fans can breathe easy, because the 2016 version of their favorite model will come at an affordable price. Many likely expected a bump up in price for the 2016 Passat considering the wealth of exciting changes, like new and attractive exterior styling, a new standard MIB II touchscreen infotainment system, standard Automatic Post-Collision Braking and a rearview camera. Despite the upgrades, the starting MSRP for the 2016 Passat comes out to an affordable $22,440, the same as the outgoing base model equipped with automatic transmission.

Not only is this affordable, but it offers great value. Volkswagen has said this 2016 entry level Passat offers a value of $1,315 over the base 2015 model.

This trim line starts at a $23,975 MSRP and features black accents on the front bumper, unique rocker panels, a modified rear diffuser and 19-inch aluminum alloy wheel. The 2016 Passat will also be available with a powerful 280-horsepower VR6 engine for a starting MSRP of $36,835 through the V6 SEL Premium model, which also features a 6-speed DSG automatic transmission with paddle shifters and Hill Hold Control.
