Improved Performance for the 2022 VW Golf GTI
The 2022 Golf GTI receives a boost in performance. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged direct-injection TSI engine churns out 242 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. This an increase of 14-hp and 15 lb-ft of torque over the outgoing Golf GTI model. The Golf GTI can reach an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. For a customized driving experience, the Golf GTI has a new Vehicle Dynamics Manager control system, which enables you to adjust the settings for the DCC adaptive damping system and the XDS electronic differential lock.
Sporty New Design for the 2022 VW Golf GTI
Compared to the outgoing model, the 2022 VW Golf GTI has a sportier design, with a longer body and a lower center of gravity. Volkswagen also modified many exterior components — such as the bespoke GTI roof spoiler and exterior mirrors — to maximize the aerodynamic efficiency of the Golf GTI. This resulted in a reduction of the drag coefficient from 0.3 Cd to 0.275 Cd. Inside the Golf GTI, the cabin is more technologically sophisticated with the ability to customize functions like the color of the background lighting and the settings for the infotainment system and the Digital Cockpit.
